Resurrection Victory

The hope of heaven awaits! Through the resurrection, Jesus conquered death. He is victorious. He snatched the victory from death so we can participate in this victory and have the precious hope of eternity.  Because of Jesus, heaven is our hope!

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Corinthians 15:55, 57

Do you fear death? Many people do. The uncertainty of what happens after death is a cause of angst. The Apostle Paul quotes from the Old Testament prophet, Hosea, asking, “O death, is your sting?”

When Jesus rose from the dead, he defeated death. Before the resurrection, death had final victory over us as the consequence for sin. Through the resurrection, Jesus conquered death. Jesus is victorious. He snatched the victory from death to give us hope.

By trusting in Jesus and his resurrection, we participate in the victory over death and we hold the precious hope of eternity. Heaven is our hope.

So not only does death not have victory or any sting in our future, Jesus gives us the victory through Jesus to offer heaven to us. We are heirs to a promise which is secure in the finished work of Jesus.

Why let death have a hold on you? Live confidently in the light of eternity. Then share that hope with others so that they can overcome their fear and be reconciled with God. The hope of heaven awaits!

Amen.
