Saving The Best Till Now

Jesus has the best for us. He has things for us which are better than what we have being served by the world. The miracle at the wedding in Cana was the first of Jesus’ signs through which he revealed his glory. Will it be enough for you to follow him?

1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

4 “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.”

5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.

7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim.

8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

They did so, 9 and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
John 2:1-11

I love that what Jesus created was better than what the master of the banquet was serving. “You have saved the best till now…”

Jesus has the best for us. He has things for us which are better than what we have being served by the world.

Do you believe that?

What will be the trigger for you to believe in Jesus and accept that he loves you so much that he gave his life for you? Some people followed him just because he invited them. Follow me. Come and see. And they did.

Others were skeptical and held back their trust. The miracle at the wedding in Cana was the first of Jesus’ signs through which he revealed his glory. And we see that because of this sign, his disciples believed in him.

There have been enough signs. Read the New Testament. See what Jesus did. And believe based on his signs and wonders and teaching.

Yet don’t miss the truth that the wine he prepares is better. It’s the best. So as you enjoy life, consider how the guests had been enjoying the wedding. They liked the wine. It was fine. No one was complaining. It was a wedding. All joy. And still Jesus made it better.

Even if your life is going smoothly or is a party, Jesus has something better. He has saved the best till now. So turn toward him. Don’t say that your hour has not yet come. Don’t put it off. Don’t think you can come back to it.

Now is the time to taste and see that the Lord is best.

Amen.
