There is a favor from the Lord that comes to us in the form of a loving partner. You must, however, keep fuelling the fire of you want it to burn bright. So let’s stoke the fire… The goodness of love and the blessing of God is waiting for you.
He who finds a wife finds what is good
and receives favor from the Lord.
Last week Lucy and I celebrated a special anniversary. Not our wedding anniversary, because that is in August. No, rather it was our dating anniversary. October 11 was the 33rd anniversary of our first date. Our first date was to the World Exposition which was called Expo 86. It was in Vancouver, where we lived.
Lucy will tell you the most memorable part of that date was me finding free parking on the south side of the Cambie Bridge. Unfortunately, it was in an alley behind a slaughterhouse. There were animal carcasses hanging out of the nearby dumpster.
For me, the most memorable part was stopping on the bridge to share a kiss. He who finds a wife finds what is good. Confession time, when I first typed that line, the second ‘find’ autocorrected to ‘fund.’ He who finds a wife funds what is good. Ha ha. That might also ring true for some…
There is a favor from the Lord that comes to us in the form of a loving partner. Do you appreciate your spouse? How might you show that? Be careful if your number of years is creeping toward our 33. There is a proverb which starts, “without wood a fire goes out.”
You must keep fuelling the fire of you want it to burn bright.
Think about what you might be able to do this week to fuel the fire of your love. Choose one thing. Do it. Plan it. Execute on the plan. Reap the benefits. Receive favor from the Lord and favor from your spouse.
The goodness of love and the blessing of God is waiting for you…
